The Month of Fasting
Sunday, August 14, 2011
listenin to :: Notorious - The Saturdays
I never understand why Muslims need fasting once a month every year.
when I was younger, my biological daddy asked me to fast together with him,
I did not ask why because daddy was really fierce then; I dare not say no to him.
anything that I were told to do so I must listen.
so yyeeaapp!
I did not fast the whole month because I couldn't stand not drinking water the whole day.
daddy left me at home with the maid and told her to make sure I fast.
since daddy not home of course I wouldn't listen to the maid
,
I'll sneak to the kitchen drink as much water as possible while the maid is taking a shower;
when I know she is about to come out I'll quickly run to the living room & pretend to be watching TV the whole time.
or either that,
I'll tell the maid that I'd be going over to my babysitter's place for homework guidance but actually I went over to have lunch - teeheehee
when mama found out I was told to fast, she made a big hoohah and told me to not fast anymore.
sighs, the problem of living with separated parent.
I stop fasting since then.
I really salute my Muslims friends for being able to fast the whole day, not to mention for a month
!
it's torturing and tiring but of course from their perspective is not torturing.
I googled up why do Muslims need to fast,
got to know one of the reason that it serves the purposes where it reminded them the suffering of the poor.
secondly, fasting is also an opportunity to practice self-control and to cleanse the body and mind.
some people may think the whole point of fasting is stupid,
but yet you have to respect others religion just like you want people to respect yours too
since it's the month of ramadan,
most mall will come up with the most creative decoration to setup at concourse area.
though most Raya decorations in shopping malls are rumah papan with ketupats hanging around,
but the one in OneUtama caught my attention as it was something different and unique.
I don't know what is it called but I find it simply pretty
beautiful Batiks design
view from the top
like the idea how they came up with the floor reflects the structure, it's nice
another shot from the top
I seriously wonder what does it call ey!
not sure if you notice the pictures quality are better.
that's because I got myself a new camera, teeheehee!
been taking alot of random pictures to try different camera settings,
the things that you do when you have new gadget
15 days away till Hari Raya,
it's going to be a long weekend;
have you decided where to go yet?

CNY Reunion Dinner
Friday, February 25, 2011
listenin to :: Born This Way - Lady GaGa
oh boy oh, the last updated entry was a month ago
what happened to blogging every twice a week?
have been really busy with work that almost every night I left office around 8-ish, sometimes 10-ish.
just done with Microsoft event at Doubletree by Hilton not too long ago and the event was a success
though I've received naggy nag over and over again but that's what work is all about right?
something you ought to go through in work life, that's why sometimes working life sucks
& just recently, I did a horrible mistake by forgetting to lock down the venue which led clients screaming and screaming over the phone.
poor Joanne & Adrian had to bear my mistake and bear all the screaming from clients, felt really really bad
cross fingers we able to look for a better venue
enough about work already,
time to let the pictures to do the talking.
I presume the next few entries I will rant all about work, work and work.
back end of last month,
the lesbie organized a Chinese New Year reunion dinner for Stella Marisians to get together.
it has been a long while since we organize such get together.
the last time lesbie organized such gathering was many years ago, at least 3?
dinner was held at House of Tang, One Bangsar.
great customer service but the food was alright and a lil pricey.
what do we expect right? it was few days away from Chinese New Year, meant 'to be slaughtered' for its price.
despite all that,
dinner and get together turned out to be great, it was great seeing everyone.
though I get to see few of them almost everyday but the feeling of gather everyone together was different.
one word to describe it all: happy
there were more than 5 dishes but I was too busy that I forgotten to snap it
Loh Sang, Loh Hey! The toss of prosperity

reminiscing the old times by taking class pictures, nais!
syee, winson, jong hoe, ben & moi
my favorite pictures of all the others
hopefully we get to take such picture again next year
more photos are up on Facebook.
not easy to tag more than 20 people in few pictures, eyes were @_@" & nearly tagged the wrong names
*smacks head*
till then, going to hit the sack and prepare for more walking tomorrow, wootz!
good night from Tokyo

Oh! Santa Loves Me
Monday, December 27, 2010
listenin to :: Teenage Dreams - Glee Casts
although I do not get to celebrate Christmas Eve,
but I would say this is the first year where I received so many gifts for Christmas.
usually it will only be from lover but I got it from different people this year - 7 in total
be it big, medium or small - all gifts meant so much to me
sadly to say, I finally got the meaning of Christmas this year.
all about spending quality time together with family and friends.
not that I have converted myself into Christian and spend the night singing away on Christmas carols,
no no but having to spend it with family, friends and colleagues;
it was so much fun - something that I have not done for such a long time.
how I spent my Christmas back then was only with boyfriend but now things are different and I gotta spend it differently too
I had my very first exchange gifts session in the office with Adrian, Benjamin & Joanne.
I don't see a point why we need to exchange gifts because I think it was pointless and waste of money then,
however this time round I had no choice but to join as it was a tradition in office & boy am I glad I've joined
the moment and excitement while exchanging gifts was fun!
just couldn't wait to tear off the present wrapper to see what is inside the box - I sound violent, don't I?
now I don't understand why then I thought it was stupid - I think I'm the one who being stupid, heh
we had an annual company meeting and dinner on the 18th at G-Tower, KL.
a meeting where we've discussed progression of the company, what's 2011 missions and visions & other things employees & employers would discuss.
also, it has changed its corporate identity - everything in orange!
web designers came up with a new website for the company and it's pretty interesting
will be moving to a new office next year May in Kiaramas, can't wait for new working environment

pictures that were taken during company dinner
christmas gifts that I have received this year, teeheehee
I believe I've been good this year that's why I've been receiving number of gifts
Santa loves me, bwahahahahaha!
do you believe in Santa?
somehow I do & don't, I have this thinking that Santa is really far far away in some Winter Wonderland with his little elves
silly, I know
